This review is from: Acer Aspire One AOD270-1824 10.1-Inch Netbook (Espresso Black) (Personal Computers) This is a great machine once you upgrade the memory to 2GB. Its small size and low weight makes it easy to carry in my purse or backpack.

Out of the box, 1GB is installed and loading each and every screen took so long that I had time to polish my nails as I waited for the screens to load. After upgrading the memory, it works well and the screen loads are within acceptable norms. In addition, the machine was pre-installed with Microsoft Windows 7 Starter. At first, I was upset and wanted to return the machine. But after reading the reviews online, I was convinced to at least give it a try. I is just fine for this machine. I did have to uninstall Microsoft Office Starter because it is such a waste of effort. Were it not for the name and basic interface (MS Office) you would not know it was a Microsoft product. I removed it and installed the full version of Microsoft Office 2010 to avoid the learning curve and to get all the features and functions I am accustomed to.

I highly recommend this machine one you upgrade to 2GB of RAM. My only regret . . . that the manufacturer did not automatically ship this machine with 2GB of memory because the chip was only $13 and that the path to upgrading the memory was so elusive. I had to wade through 9 YOUTUBE videos before I found one that was appropriate for my machine (it's the Asian video with no words, just the song . . . "When will I see you again").
